Standard Use Cases

Standard Rule : Standard Rule is which we can define rules without using any Logical Conditions (AND, OR) if we define more than one rule this will take Logical “AND” Condition automatically.

Advanced Rule : Advanced Rule is which we can define rules with using Logical Conditions (AND, OR).This Advanced Rule is Ultra flexible for creating more logical rules.

Category for Home Page

Categories for home can be achieved by defining adding category rule on Home Page and leveraging it in categories rule.

How to create rule :

step 1: Enter Rule name.

step 2: Select Status.

step 3: Select Categories. (Category which you want to apply rule.)

step 4: Select Category Actions, in this case Hide Categories selected. (Which action you should perform to selected categories.)

step 5: Enter Rule Description.

step 6: Add Rule, In these case URL is equal to http://megaedzee.com added. (Rule in which case you want to apply to the categories.)

Category by Geo Location

If you want to hide or append information for request which are coming from a specific geographic location country or continent then add rule using “Geo Location” Criteria.

  • Exclude Posts YES or NO
  • Hide Categories YES or NO

How to create rule :

step 1: Enter Rule name.

step 2: Select Status.

step 3: Select Categories. (Category which you want to apply rule.)

step 4: Select Category Actions, in this case Hide Categories selected. (Which action you should perform to selected categories.)

step 5: Enter Rule Description.

step 6: Add Rule, In these case Geo Location (countries) added. (Rule in which case you want to apply to the categories.)

Category by Role


You might be having a common use case of hiding some categories for a specific role in such case add rule using “User Role” criteria and use it in category rule.

How to create rule :

step 1: Enter Rule name.

step 2: Select Status.

step 3: Select Categories. (Category which you want to apply rule.)

step 4: Select Category Actions, in this case Hide Categories selected. (Which action you should perform to selected categories.)

step 5: Enter Rule Description.

step 6: Add Rule, In these case user role name is subscriber added. (Rule in which case you want to apply to the categories.)

Category by Date and Time

There might be situation where you might be interested in showing special categories like “New Year” or “Christmas” or “Year End Sales” discounts category and these category should be available for only few days or months, in such cases add rule using “Date and Time” criteria.
You can use Date, Time, Day of Week and Month sub criteria to further refine the rule.

How to create rule :

step 1: Enter Rule name.

step 2: Select Status.

step 3: Select Categories. (Category which you want to apply rule.)

step 4: Select Category Actions, in this case Show Categories selected. (Which action you should perform to selected categories.)

step 5: Enter Rule Description.

step 6: Add Rule, In these case Date and Time added. (Rule in which case you want to apply to the categories.)

Hide Category by Guest User

One more common common use case of hiding some categories from Guest user(Not logged in User) and these categories should be available for logged in user, in such cases define a rule using “User Profile” criteria.

How to create rule :

step 1: Enter Rule name.

step 2: Select Status.

step 3: Select Categories. (Category which you want to apply rule.)

step 4: Select Category Actions, in this case Hide Categories selected. (Which action you should perform to selected categories.)

step 5: Enter Rule Description.

step 6: Add Rule, In these case unregistered user(Not logged in) is equal to unregister added. (Rule in which case you want to apply to the categories.)
