Configuration

Plugin supports three different types of Geolocation databases.
  1. Geoplugin webservice
  2. MaxMind Geolocation database
  3. IP2Location Geolocation Database (BIN FIlE) (Recommended)
  4. IP2Location Geolocation Database (CSV FILE) (Recommended)

Check the troubleshoot section to see the API currently configured with the plugin.

Geoplugin webservice :
GeoPlugin Web Services offers a number of different free web services to allow customers to efficiently localize your visitors and pull up vital information on them.
Enable the checkbox “Use GeoPlugin Webservice” to use this service as the Geolocation API for the plugin. Using this webservice, plugin identified the visitor Country Name, City and Region details.


MaxMind Geolocation database :
This plugin comes with the MaxMind Countries database. Customers can configure the Cities database also with plugin, which works for both cities and countries.


To configure cities database
Click on the Download DB button, Cities Database gets downloaded. Select the Cities DB from the drop down and click on the Save Setting button.


Customers can also configure the Cities DB manually
Download and extract the file GeoLite2 City MaxMind DB binary, gzipped file. The zip contains “GeoLite2-City.mmdb” file. Copy the “GeoLite2-City.mmdb” to the below location.

Example: {WordPress Installation directory}\wp-content\uploads\bis_rulesengine_uploads
Example: C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\uploads\bis_rulesengine_uploads


IP2Location Geolocation Database (BIN FILE) :
Based on our experience IP2Location Geolocation (BIN FILE) Database is more accurate Geolocation Database.
Download the IP2Location Geolocation Database BIN FILE and extract the file IP2LOCATION-LITE-DB11.BIN gzipped file. The zip contains “IP2LOCATION-LITE-DB11.BIN” file. Copy the “IP2LOCATION-LITE-DB11.BIN” to the below location.

Example: {WordPress Installation directory}\wp-content\uploads\bis_rulesengine_uploads
Example: C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\uploads\bis_rulesengine_uploads

After Uploading BIN file, select ” Use Ip2location database” radio button enter BIN file name with extension in text box and click on save settings.


IP2Location Geolocation Database (CSV FILE):
Based on our experience IP2Location Geolocation (CSV FILE) Database is more accurate Geolocation Database.
Download the IP2Location Geolocation Database CSV FILE and extract the file IP2LOCATION-LITE-DB11.CSV gzipped file. The zip contains “IP2LOCATION-LITE-DB11.CSV” file. Copy the “IP2LOCATION-LITE-DB11.CSV” to the below location.

Example: {WordPress Installation directory}\wp-content\uploads\bis_rulesengine_uploads
Example: C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\uploads\bis_rulesengine_uploads

After Uploading CSV file, select “Create IP2Location Local DB” radio button enter CSV file name with extension in text box and click on “Install DB” after successful installation click on save settings.


Geonames User Name :
Plugin uses Geonames to list the name of the cities while creating the rule. It is recommended for customers to create your own account and use the user name in the Geonames section.


Allowed tags :
In Page Controller, Post Controller and Product Controller plugins administrator can add dynamic content to Page, Post and Products respectively. Administrators can also design the content using html tags. But if we allow all html tags this may result in security issues like Cross-site Scripting (XSS). So considering the security impacts, Mega Platform allows only the tags which are configured in “Allowed tags”. Customer can update the tag as per his requirement.


Delete plugin-in tables :

Before upgrade, uncheck this checkbox and click on “Save Settings” button. This step is very important, if the checkbox is checked Mega Platform data will be removed permanently, make sure the checkbox is unchecked before upgrade.


Force delete Mega Platform :
Use this option in case if you get any unusual errors while deleting the Mega Enterprise Platform Plugin.
